Alexa Peters, 29, of Honey Brook, was charged after she refused commands to stop from police during a disturbance in Morgantown on Sunday, Oct. 6, the Caernarvon Township Police Department said.
Police were initially called to Lowes, located at 340 Crossings Boulevard, for a woman causing a disturbance in the area, according to police. Peters was reported to have stolen a drink, threw her jacket in an employee's face, and cursed at people.
An officer found Peters in the area of Walmart, located at 100 Crossings Boulevard, where she refused commands to stop and fled to an unidentified restaurant, police said. While inside the restaurant, Peters jumped barefoot onto a table and continued to cause a disturbance for customers.
Peters was eventually arrested and charged with:
- Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct - Unreasonable Noise.
- Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct Obscene Language/Gesture.
- Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offensive.
- Misdemeanor Flight to Avoid Apprehension.
- Misdemeanor Resisting Arrest.
- Misdemeanor Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot.
- Summary Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct.
- Summary Harassment - Subject Other to Physical Contact.
Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 29, according to court documents. She is being held in Berks County Prison on $20,000 bail.
Peters has had run-ins with the police in the past with Harassment charges stemming from an incident on Saturday, May 28, 2016 and charges related to a burglary on Friday, April 14, 2017, according to court documents. She also faced charges drug possession on Friday, Dec. 25, 2015 and again on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024.
